The dolls, called Motanks in Ukraine, were received from a friend of the Foundation volunteer from Kharkiv, Viktor Emelianenko.
Motankami are traditional Ukrainian dolls. They appeared about 5,000 years ago and are the first dolls that people in ancient times made on their own for their children.
Motanki are a symbol of goodness, prosperity and hope for the better. It does not matter whether the doll was created quickly for a child's amusement or as an important amulet or vacation gift. They are sure to bring the best to each of their owners.
