Foundation member Nilofar Ayoubi as speaker at Peace Talks Conference

Peace Talks Conferences organized by the United Nations were held on September 21. Every year, September 21 marks the International Day of Peace, which, the UN General Assembly established as a time dedicated to promoting the values of peace through the observance of 24 hours of non-violence and truce.

This year's Peace Talks, now in its 21st year, was held in 8 countries and was attended by 8,000 people.

At this year's PeaceTalks, we had the opportunity to hear personal stories from people coming from all over the world and from different backgrounds about the peace efforts they are making. One of the speakers at the Geneva conference was Nilofar Ayoubi, a member of our foundation. Nilofar is a refugee from Afghanistan, where, being a fulfilled and successful businesswoman, she led the struggle for women's rights all the time. With the Taliban's rise to power in 2021, she found herself on the list of those in immediate danger. She managed to evacuate with a group of other Afghans, for whom planes were sent by the Polish government.

Nilofar is now living in Poland, trying to arrange her family's life in a new country, but she has not stopped her efforts for human rights for a moment.
